KABUKIMONO /

Eccentric   [ Kabukimono ]

Kabukimono (also written as 'Kabukimono' or 'Kabuki-mono') was a social trend that was popular in Edo, Kyoto, and other areas from the end of the Sengoku period to the early Edo period .

The word "kabuki" is derived from the verb "kabuku" (to lean), and as it can also be written as "keiki," it refers to performers of Kabuki music and dance, as well as Kabuki actors, and also to people who have strayed from the feudal system of debauchery, heresy, and unusual dress.

WELCOME TO KYOTO!!

Welcome.

Captivated by Kyoto, the thousand-year-old capital, I was blessed with the opportunity to establish my base here.

We launched "KABUKIMONO KYOTO" with the desire to let people all over the world know about Japan's wonderful traditions and culture and to pass them on to the next generation.

Having spent my childhood surrounded by Western culture, I have come to appreciate the value of Japan once again while working abroad, and this was triggered by my encounters with people who are working hard for Japan, including those who carry on traditional culture.

We would like to help preserve and pass on the techniques and ideas that our predecessors have created and passed down over a long history.

In today's world, where diverse ideas and values abound, we hope that exchanges that transcend race, religion, nationality and generations will deepen understanding and respect, and help build a peaceful international society.

We will provide our heartfelt hospitality to those from Japan and abroad who are interested in Japan, so that they can fall in love with the country even more.

Please enjoy your stay in this hideaway Kyoto townhouse, quietly located in the heart of Kyoto.
